18 the eyes of your [a]understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, (Ephesians 1:18 NKJV)
There is much people consider these days as living an enlightened life. It will typically circle around being tolerant or accepting of pretty much anything the world sees as a mentally enlightened lifestyle. And it is important that we accepting of others, as long as that acceptance does not run contrary to scripture.
You see, there is a way to live that brings honor to God and still remains faithful to His teachings. The world is perfectly happy if we live for God as long as we conform to its way of thinking. As long as we do not stand for anything scriptural or Christian that runs contrary to the world’s ways. And heaven forbid that we actually stand upon our beliefs and speak them as truths.
It is possible to that “the eyes or your understanding being enlightened” if we are living for the hope of His calling. Anything else is just going along with the crowd.
